Execute Order 66

Saturday, May 21st, 2005

“Execute Order 66″

And Commander Cody, who minutes earlier received an order from General Kenobi, without any hesitation instructed his troops to fire at General Kenobi.

That’s how the Jedis were hunted down and terminated by the evil Galactic Empire.

Yeaps, I watched Revenge of The Sith. To be honest, of the three prequels, Revenge of The Sith is the best. Of course, since TPM and AOTC set such low standards. It’s on par with Return of the Jedi, which is of course, the worse of the original Star Wars series. And I could not help noticing several similiarites of Revenge of the Sith with the Return of the Jedi.

One, it started out with a rescue mission. To rescue Senator Palpatine in Revenge, and Han Solo in Return. Secondly, the scene when Master Widu confronted Senator Palpatine, is very much like the scene when Emperor Palpatine taunting Luke Skywalker on the Death Star with both Anakin/Darth Vader watching.

Overall, it’s a some kind of closure. How Anakin becoming Darth Vader, Luke and Leia were born. And of course, how the Jedi Order was destroyed with only Yoda and Obi-Wan who survived…

I just watched Episode 4 just now. Continuation from Episode 3. And I noticed something that I did not notice before. As the Storm Troopers came in to the command center where C3P0 and R2D2 were hiding, one of them accidently knocked his head on the blast door.

One Week On

Saturday, May 14th, 2005

Tonight will be the last night for me in Seoul. It has been a busy week. But definitely less hectic compared to my trip to Tokyo in April. Finally had the time to hang out at J. J. Mahoney’s right at the basement of my hotel. Hang out from 11 all the way till 3 am. They had an excellent band churning out the latest from Linkin Park, and playing the all time classic, Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit. The crowd was very responsive, and man, nearly everyone was jumping and doing the headbanging together with the band.

Made some more new friends over here. And learnt a few words here and there. Even one shopkeeper was impressed with my pronounciation. It does not help that I can pass off as a Korean, as one guy came up to me and began asking me questions in Korean. Luckily the Hotel Sales Manager was next to me and saved me. But she had a good laugh telling me that I can pass of as a Korean. The best was when I was with my boss as we entered a taxi. The taxi driver thought he was Japanese. He seriously can pass off as a Japanese!

Anyway, it’s time for dinner with my good friend from the Yokohama office. And tonight, we gonna stay up all night, enjoying ourselves with good music from J. J. Mahoneys. Woo hoo!

Alamak!

Saturday, May 7th, 2005

I woke up God forsakenly early today. Switched on my television, and the F1 qualifiers was on the telly. Decided to watch it while still lying on my bed. In between the real world and the world of dreams, I thought I heard someone said "Alamak!"

That woke me up and I saw on the telly, some Middle Eastern clan on horses was surrounding this poor person who was wearing a Shirt with the Malaysia flag on it. Suddenly one of the horseman took out quite a brand new camera and took pictures with the 4 wheel drive that has a PETRONAS logo on it. Hmm, not a bad advertisement for my employer’s 10th year involvement in the F1.

Truli is P1. Hmm, Toyota is doing very well indeed…..

Annyong Haseyo!

Well, I am now in Seoul, South Korea. Looking out from my room, it’s a beautiful Saturday morning, one that should not be wasted by being in the room. But after a number of late nights and early mornings for the past few days before I left for Korea, I still need the extra sleep….

Will be off for lunch soon, and of course to check out Seoul. Surprisingly, while having a quick lunch yesterday, me and my friend could see a big mosque from the lobby of our hotel…
