There’s Only Us
There’s Only This
Forget Regret Or Life Is Yours To Miss

No Other Road No Other Way
No Day But Today

I was browsing through the company’s bulletin board recently and found this gem.

Internet Usage, top 20 websites visited..

Ooh, that should be interesting, so I read on.

5 of them were the company’s own internal website…..We call them Intranet. Hehe, thanks for the joke people. I needed it.

The Week That Was…

Saturday, October 22nd, 2005

It has been a very eventful week. But first, I would like to express my condolences to Pak Lah and his family for the loss of beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Datin Paduka Seri Endon Mahmood. Even the heavens cried the whole day on Thursday, mourning the passing of a great lady who has charmed her way to the hearts of most Malaysians.

Pak Lah has brought fresh changes into Malaysia, and one of the most profound for me, is Pak Lah and Kak Endon’s public display of affections that certainly shows that there is a lot of love between them and their family. For the past 20 years of my life, I don’t remember such shows of affection by any of our leaders to their families, and probably that’s why they came up with the campaign Masyarakat Penyayang.

On a happier note, I had a great iftaar with my old friends from Bukit Bintang. Some, I have not met for ages, some, well, we do meet often. It’s good to catch up with old school mates, and the words of a teacher of mine kept on humming as I drove home.

“Treasure your friends in school as they will be your friends for life”

She’s right. So, Dude, Hirwan, Kharis, Amril, Farad, and Edi, let’s have our nasi padang marathon soon..

Congratulations to Nicol David who won the British Open, the Wimbledon of the squash game.
Talented, determined and focussed, be sure to keep her in your sports radar apart from the F1 and EPL
Not to forget, she’s quite pretty too. ;)
It’s about time we have this kind of good diversion away from the stupid AP, Proton, Works Ministry etc issues.

God Works in Mysterious Ways…

What Gandhi failed to achieve 60 years ago, was achieved recently. Well, almost. It is a start. I read on the newspapers that the Indians army based in Kashmir crossed the border to assist the Pakistani army in building the shelter destroyed earlier this weekend by the earthquake.

It reminded me what happened recently, closer to home. A peace deal was struck between the Gerakan Acheh Merdeka and the Indonesian Govt after years of struggle. And it took the tsunami to help them achieve that milestone.

We humans will never understand why such tragedies happen. But what we need to do is to survive and learn from it.

I got this in the mail…

A friend of mine forwarded me this song, telling me it’s currently the UK number 1, and told me to enjoy it. The song is simply, beautiful…. sung by James Blunt.

My life is brilliant.
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.
Of that I’m sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won’t lose no sleep on that,
‘Cause I’ve got a plan.

You’re beautiful. You’re beautiful.
You’re beautiful, it’s true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don’t know what to do,
‘Cause I’ll never be with you.

Yeah, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
F**king high,
And I don’t think that I’ll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end.

You’re beautiful. You’re beautiful.
You’re beautiful, it’s true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don’t know what to do,
‘Cause I’ll never be with you.
You’re beautiful. You’re beautiful.
You’re beautiful, it’s true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it’s time to face the truth,
I will never be with you.

Dedicated to the person who I know will not read this, and who I’ve spent the past few mornings chatting over YM.

The Holy Month

Well, it’s the fourth day of Ramadan. So far so good. Been receiving a lot of invitations for berbuka puasa by customers, potential business associates and so on. I am to try and fulfill some of the invites before the 24th of October. Hopefully there’s not a lot of wastage as like previous Ramadans….

Apart from it, of course, some berbuka puasa with friends and family over the weekends.

Not a lot of problem for the first few days. I think, or I would like to think that I look fresh and energetic during the fasting days. It worked just now, when I was doing my groceries at the supermarket. One of the ladies approached me, inviting me to try out her food products.

I politely declined, and informed her that I was fasting, to her surprise.

Food for thought by TV Smith.

Here we go again…

Explosions reported at Kuta and Jimbaran in Bali on 1st October 2005.

I only have this to say to those responsible,

“Damn you. The Balinese never care for anything but to make a living so that they can bring food to the table. They have been taught since young to work, and making money so that they can live decently. But I guess you never have to work hard in your life. Never know the meaning of earning a living so that a family can have a decent meal. Never know that for every action that you take, might and will affect the life of others. Don’t envy the Balinese for their hardwork has lead them to prosperity. They worked hard for it. But you, you just have to destroy that, all their hard work. Whatever is your reason, it’s a sorry excuse.”

Well, I could have said it a lil bit louder…

A typical day in the office. I was searching hi and lo for my highlighter
but could not find it. My staff must have springcleaned my workstation for
me. Desperate, I stood up and asked my colleague.

“Bro, you got a highlighter right? Could you lend me yours?”

“Sure, not a problem.”

He passed me his lighter….

Now, that’s a big hint…..*slaps forehead*
